You’re Invited to Memorial’s
Festival of Trees.

November 23 – December 1, 2013

This is a picture of my daughter helping me decorate a wreath for this year’s Memorial Festival of Trees. This event raises funds for health programs for Memorial Medical Center. The Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds will be transformed into a winter wonderland of exquisitely decorated showcases, trees, wreaths and swags. Hundreds of donors and volunteers make this event possible. This wreath will be hanging under the name of Synchronous Moments.

I am very excited to meet and hear a FB friend, Virginia Hummel present at the Chicago IANDS International Assoc. of Near Death Studies
March 9, 2013 2-5pm Franklin Auditorium, Evanston, Illinois

She is the author of “Miracle Messenger: Signs From Above, Love From Beyond” and an inspirational speaker on the subjects of Orbs and New Age Bereavement Healing. She has been a lifelong student of spiritual and metaphysical studies and most recently of the orb phenomenon.

After the meeting I shall share information and pictures.

Here’s a wonderful story about how two women met and became friends because of one of our books!

Jean Ferratier wrote an uplifting story for Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive about accepting her mother’s Alzheimer’s disease and even embracing the new perspective it gave her on enjoying life in the moment. Kathleen Wheeler read the book and contacted Jean when she realized they both lived in Springfield, Illinois.

They corresponded and eventually met at an author lecture. And then the two friends submitted stories for Chicken Soup for the Soul: Family Caregivers, Kathleen about her own mother’s Alzheimer’s disease and Jean about how she and her ex-husband cared for their daughter together after she broke both arms in a work accident.

We had no idea they knew each other, but we are so happy that we selected both their stories for the book!

Jean and Kathleen had a book signing together at their local Barnes & Noble in March and, as you can see from the photos, they were quite a draw. Congratulations to both of you, and thanks!
